MARSEC; PORT SECURITY

ANUBIS' approach to this compliance standard is based on experience and working knowledge of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO’s)  Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention and subsequent International Ship and Port  Security Code (ISPS Code) along with a clear understanding of related maritime security  requirements.

ANUBIS' MARSEC team of specialists represents the diverse security  disciplines required to fulfil the mandated requirements, namely:  

​

  1. Sound security background encompassing aviation security, marine security, industrial security, transportation security, oil and gas security, mine security and  government (Canadian Government Security Policy regulations);  

  2. Governance and Regulatory compliance framework experience;  

  3. Operating knowledge of the maritime industry;  

  4. Understanding of port operations, engineering and command systems;  

  5. Operational working knowledge of port stakeholders interface concept;  

  6. Knowledge of the domestic and international terrorist threats;  

  7. Understanding and of transportation security as an integral part of critical  infrastructure.

Most importantly, we fulfil the requirements of Part “A” Sec. 15.4 and Part “B” Sec. 15.4 of  the ISPS Code. This includes knowledge pertaining to the following:

  1. Analysis of current security threats and patterns;  

  2. Detection and recognition of weapons, explosives, incendiaries and other  dangerous substances and devices;  

  3. Recognition of the characteristics and behavioural patterns of persons who are likely  to threaten security;  

  4. Techniques that might be used to violate security procedures or to circumvent  security procedures, equipment or systems;  

  5. Methods used to cause a security incident;  

  6. Effects of dangerous substances and devices on structures and essential services;  

  7. Port interface business practices and port operation;  

  8. Emergency preparedness and response and contingency planning;  

  9. Enhanced physical security requirements;  

  10. Communications systems, including telephone, radio and computer networks.
